I have more than 20 years of Australian Shepherd experience. I have trained & exhibited ( breeder / owner handled ) both the full-sized &
the mini-sized Aussie to their conformation Championships & have
also trained some of my dogs in agility, flyball, obedience & herding.
I actually enjoy training with my dogs much more than I enjoy exhibiting, but when the show-bug "bites", I do have fun at the shows & trials too.
I am a member in good standing with MASCA, NAMASCUSA, ASCA
and several performance Clubs. I am a past member / Board Member
of ASCA affiliate Clubs & local AKC Clubs. I have also worked as
the show secretary & ring steward for both AKC & ASCA events and
have volunteered in other capacities . . . & in other dog clubs as well.
In December of 2000 I met the requirements that would allow me to apply to become an ASCA "breeder-judge", but with our move to the west side of Houston, I became too busy to pursue that avenue. I also found other interests that I favored more than ASCA events ..... including the Mini Aussie, which is not an ASCA breed ( Mini Aussies are a
separate breed, with their own registries & Clubs ).
However, the Australian Shepherd is in my heart & soul and I will
forever love & have this wonderful breed of dog. The mini-sized is
just my preference now, and I look forward to many years of having
fun with these little Aussies.
